T minus... how many days?

Apparently travel agencies don't have to give you an actual date for an international flight.
We called them today to make sure everything was going as planned and guess what!? Although they had told me that my flight would be this Friday, they actually don't have a ticket for me, nor do they have a date for my departure!
I was kind of annoyed about it. I feel like a popped balloon, actually. All deflated because I was so excited about Friday and now I don't even know when I'm leaving and I hate the fact that I'll have to tell people, oh no, I'm not leaving Friday like I told you and like I told every one else in the WORLD. Ugh.
There are some good things, I guess:
I'll be able to see more of my friends.
Perhaps I'll be able to go to Greenfield for one last contra dancing hurrah... maybe they'll be delayed until the Dawn Dance!!
I'll be able to finish off Nick's bass. EXCELLENT.
More time to practice sax, so I'm not really out of practice when I get there, as I am now.
Maybe be able to see the end of Goong, woo Korean dramas!
More time with the family.
It's good, I guess. It's alright. It'll be worth it if I make it to Greenfield.

Hi Hannah,

Big Bob of Beaver River XC skiing here.

It's great that you have started your blog. Please put some photos on as soon as you can... you know the 1,000 words thing... and you can tell people that you are from New York - where George Eastman of Eastman-Kodak made personal photography affordable and possible...

another Kodak moment...
and now you don't even need chemicals to see the photos... just a wee bit of electric and a computer

the simplification of photography accomplished by George Eastman when he founded Kodak™ as related in following web page. http://www.kodak.com/US/en/corp/kodakHistory/

Mr. Eastman took an interest in photography when it was in its infancy. When he first started taking photographs the equipment necessary to take a picture weighed nearly 100 lbs. That was just the camera, tripod, glass plates and accessories. If you wanted to see the photograph that you took you would need to invest in and equip a darkroom with all the trays and chemicals. Mr. Eastman came up with small affordable portable cameras that could be easily carried and used. The cameras could be sent back to his company for the processing of the photographs. The images could be captured and shared without becoming a slave to a ton of equipment and a chemist in a darkroom. Mr. Eastman and Kodak™ made it possible for people to produces images without having to cross the hurdles that Mathew Brady and other early photographers overcame.

Thanks to the Chamberlains for hosting my bike trips to Boston over the years!

Hello all This is Neal

Hannah wrote saying she's having trouble logging in to her blog it says she has no account. I'm including some excerpts from two e mails we've received.

aug 30 I´m here alone right now. Every one is out, except Bruno, who is still asleep, and Claudia, who works here all the time and basically does everything. She shops and cooks and cleans and does the laundry and makes the bed (except you wash your own undies and I made my bed this morning anyway.
I DID have my first meal here! We went out to eat at a pizza restaurant where Horacio seemed o know everyone. And I was really out of it by that time, because it was 11 at night and I´d been up trying to understand Spanish since I arrived. BUt after a good night´s sleep (i´m sharing Bianca´s room) and some breakfast (crackers with dulce de leche and some milk (which comes in a bag!?) and some frosted flakes), I´m feeling pretty good.
They have a rabbit and a turtle, and you wouldn´t believe how friendly this bunny is. He´s like a little dog. Claudia and I fed them carrots and lettuce. I haven´t been out exploring yet. THey have a major wall around their house, and I don´t think they want me just going out and walking around, although I haven´t asked about it yet. I am planning to give everyone their gifts tonight, since I was too tired last night to do anything or speak any Spanish. I´m having a lot of trouble understanding people.
So with that said, I´m signing off and going to bother Claudia again.

sept 1 Today is Bruno´s birthday, so I think we are going to celebrate. They have SO MANY parties here. Yesterday, the whole family came over for the weekly family asado day and then later we went to the grandmother´s house to celebrate a tia abuela´s birthday. Also the night before, we went to a concert of local bands in the city and then went to a party at one of Bianca´s friend´s house where there was an amazing guitarist playing and we stayed there until 3:30 in the morning!!! It was crazy. i was so tired. Well, I¨ve been playing a lot of guitar and taught Bianca Blackbird last night.
